Google Checkout - How to use?

Signing Up

How to

To sign up for Google Payments and offer your buyers a fast, safe, and convenient payment flow:

  1. Visit the Google Payments homepage.
  2. Click Sign up now.
  3. Complete the signup wizard.
You'll need to provide your primary product type, specify your public business website URL, and specify financial and tax information. Learn more about why Google needs financial and tax information about your business.

If you currently access any free or paid Google services that require you to sign in -- including Gmail, Google Groups, and the Personalized Homepage -- you can use the same Google Account login email and password to access Google Payments.

Creating multiple accounts

You can create multiple Google Payments merchant accounts if you have several storefronts, applications or websites. Each time you sign up you'll need a different, valid login email address. While you can use the same bank account information for more than one account, you'll need to complete the verification process each time.

Protecting your personal information

Google highest priority is to enable secure transactions between buyers and merchants. Rest assured that:

  • Payments transactions are encrypted with industry-standard SSL (secure sockets layer) technology. Learn more about API authentication and security.
  • Your bank account details and credit card information, which are stored in a single location on our secure servers, are only accessed when needed to complete transactions.
  • Google is committed to preserving the security of your information, and will not share your information with anyone except under the very limited circumstances described in our Privacy Policy.

Account verification

Overview

Google team reviews Payments merchant accounts on a regular basis to confirm your identity and protect you from fraud. When necessary, Google may send you an email to request additional documentation via fax to help us confirm your identity once you have started processing orders in your account. To ensure you receive important notifications from us, please add account-verification-noreply@google.com address to your address book. Account verification typically takes two to three business days after Google receives all of the requested documentation. Google will contact you at the conclusion of their review.

You won't receive any further payouts while your account undergoes verification, even if you've verified your bank account. Payouts will resume within three to five business days of completing the verification process.

If you choose not to complete the verification process after receiving a request for information, you will not receive future payouts and your account may be subject to suspension. In this case, please refund all orders which have not been paid out to you.

Submitting Documents

To complete the verification process, you may need to submit several documents including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Supplier invoices
The invoices or receipts you received when you originally purchased the items you're selling through Google Payments help us to ensure that these items are currently in your stock. Any invoices you submit for account verification must include the supplier's business name and telephone number.

  • Driver's license or government issued ID
If the address listed on your driver's license does not match to the address listed in your Payments account, please submit proof of your address with a bank statement, credit card bill (with the first 12 digits of your card number blacked out), water, phone or other utility bill.

  • Business license
A business license is a state issued license which shows that you are legally permitted to perform business operations.

When submitting this information to Google Payments, be sure to include your Google Payments merchant ID on all submitted documents.

Rest assured that Google is committed to preserving the security of your information.
